Type in the U. S. National Herbarium, no. 989623, collected in clay soil at Rodezno, Department of Copán, Honduras, at an altitude of about 120 meters, May 3, 1919, by H. N. Whitford and L. R. Stadtmiller (no. 7).
Other specimens examined: Guatemala: In rich clay, Las Playitas, Department of Izabal, altitude 45 meters, May 13, 1919, Whitford & Stadtmiller 32.
Additional type data:
Honduras. Copán: Rodezno, 120 m, 3 May 1919, Whitford & Stadtmiller 7 (Holotype: US [no. 989623 according to Blake]; isotypes: US 00028324 [stamped 989622, and with note “see other sheet”], WIS 00000343MAD).
Paratype: Guatemala. Izabal, alt. 45 m, 13 May 1919, Whitford & Stadtmiller 32 (US).
Miscellaneous information:
The entire volume of Contr. U.S. Natl. Herb. 24 is dated 1931, but the first issue (containing this name) appeared on 11 January 1922.
