O gênero Ocotea Aubl. (Lauraceae) no Parque Nacional do Itatiaia, Brasil

Abstract:

<p>The taxonomic study of species in the genus Ocotea Aubl. was carried in the Itatiaia National Park, located in the southeastern Brazil (22&deg;30&rsquo; e 22&deg;33&rsquo;S; 42&deg;15&rsquo; e 42&deg;19&rsquo;W), with an area of 30,000 ha. Twenty-three species were recorded: O. aciphylla (Nees) Mez, O. brachybotra (Meisn.) Mez, O. corymbosa (Meisn.) Mez, O. daphnifolia (Meisn.) Mez, O. diospyrifolia (Meisn.) Mez, O. dispersa (Nees) Mez, O. divaricata (Nees) Mez, O. elegans Mez, O. glaziovii Mez, O. indecora (Schott) Mez, O. itatiaiae Vattimo-Gil, O. microbotrys (Meisn.) Mez, O. odorifera (Vell.) Rohwer, O. percoriacea Kosterm., O. porosa (Nees &amp; Mart.) Barroso, O. puberula (Rich.) Nees, O. pulchella (Nees) Mez, O. silvestris Vattimo-Gil, O. spixiana (Nees) Mez, O. sulcata Vattimo-Gil, O. teleiandra (Meisn.) Mez, O. tenuiflora (Nees) Mez and O. vaccinioides (Meisn.) Mez. Ocotea itatiaiae and O. sulcata are only found in the Parque and twelve species represent new occurrences to the Parque. The binomial O. microbotrys and O. tenuiflora were confirmed to be valid. The taxonomic treatment includes key to identification, descriptions, comments, illustrations, geographical distribution, habitat, common names and flowering and fruiting time for each species.</p>
