Miscellaneous information:
One of the syntypes, Martius s.n. (Brazil, Amazonas, Coarí, preserved in M, fragment in GZU) is Licaria cannella. Another one, Hb. Arnott. s.n. (Brazil, Santa Catarina, Ilha de Santa Catarina, preserved in GZU) is Nectandra megapotamica. Moraes (2015) writes "Rohwer (1993: 181) designated the collection Martii Herbar. Florae Brasil. Nº 1239 as the lectotype of Nectandra nitidula Nees & Mart. var. maior Nees. However, this collection refers to a gathering undertaken by Peter Claussen in Cachoeira do Campo, Minas Gerais, in August 1839, which therefore is not an original material for the lectotypification of the variety named by Nees von Esenbeck."
