Blume spelt the epithet "burmanni", and ascribed the name to "Nees ab Esenb.". He did not mention Laurus burmanni, but his description appears to be for the larger part copied from that of Nees & T. Nees. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that this name is really based on Laurus burmanni. In accordance with Art. 60.11 and Rec. 60 C.1 the spelling of the epithet has to be changed to "burmannii".
