According to Nees (1848) this species included both Laurus cuneifolia and Laurus obovata Ruiz & Pav. However, he did not explicitely refer to the "Laurographia", and the material that he included belongs to Ocotea obovata. Therefore, this name may be equally well be placed in the synonymy of that species.
