Miscellaneous information:
Rohwer (1986, Mitt. Inst. Allg. Bot. Hamburg 20: 189) had placed this species in the synonymy of Ocotea lancifolia (Schott) Mez. Moraes (2015, Harvard Pap. Bot. 20: 187), however, noted that its fruits were different, cupola-shaped with simple margin instead of almost flat with double margin.
