Original type data:
Type, Krukoff 5121, collected July 1, 1933, on "varzea" land near mouth of Rio Embira (tributary of Rio Tarauaca), basin of Rio Jurua, State of Amazonas. Another specimen from the same locality is Krukoff 4800, which is more or less juvenile and bears shorter inflorescences.
