Additional type data:
according to Ngernsaengsaruay et al. (2011, Thai Forest Bull., Bot. 39: 84): "Cochinchina, Pierre 5151 (lectotype K, designated here; isolectotypes BM, K)." - but see below.
Miscellaneous information:
Lecomte mentions in the general part of his paper "... d'après les materiaux que nous possédons au Muséum", i.e. the Museúm d'Histoire Naturelle Paris. Therefore, one of the specimens at P should be selected as lectotype. Both syntypes are present there. Pierre 471 is represented by [at least] four sheets, P00745252, P00745253, P00745254 and P00745255.
The number "5551" cited by Lecomte for the second syntype is almost certainly a typo. There are several specimens from the Pierre herbarium in P (P00745248, P00745249, P00745250, P00745251, P00745256) with labels showing the number 5151 but the locality and the vernacular name mentioned by Lecomte ("in montibus Dinh ad Baria austro-Cochinchinae" and "Bòi Lòi") as well as the name Litsea pierrei. The lectotype should be selected among these specimens.
