Miscellaneous information:
Mez spelt the epithet "phillyraeoides", but the original and correct spelling is "phillyreoides". Rohwer (Mitt. Inst. Allg. Bot. Hamburg 20: 168. 1986) had considered this name a probable synonym of Ocotea tristis (Nees) Mez.
